Posted: 31st July 2025 | Category: Fundraising On Wednesday 30th July, we were thrilled to host our 2nd annual Family Fun Day at Mellors HQ in Skelmersdale, Lancashire—an unforgettable afternoon where team members and their families came together to enjoy fantastic food, exciting activities, and lots of laughter. The event was packed with fun for all ages! From badminton and swing ball to arts and crafts, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Even the sunshine even made an appearance, making the day even more special! One of the highlights was the debut of a new addition to our offering for the 2025 school term: x4 Mellors Smoothie Bikes—complete with LED lights that glow as you pedal! These bikes were a huge hit with both kids and adults alike! Don’t forget to speak to your AM to book them for your school! Keeping the tunes flowing, Matt Heron and William Lyons treated us to a fantastic DJ set throughout the afternoon—complete with karaoke! Their mix of great music kept the atmosphere buzzing and spirits high. Of course, no Mellors Family Fun Day would be complete without the appearance of our much-loved Tuk Truck! This innovative street food kitchen has been touring schools, dishing up mouthwatering global street food. #TeamMellors enjoyed a flavour-packed menu that featured: Chicken sheesh kebab burgers Indian-inspired chickpea burgers Fresh salads including panzanella and Middle Eastern chopped salad – all crafted by Executive Development Chef John Connolly & Jackie Ronfell A selection of indulgent desserts from Executive Development Chef Stuart Dale , including chocolate brownies, rich chocolate muffins drizzled with chocolate sauce, and classic tiramisu At Mellors, we’re passionate about promoting the health and wellbeing of our people. Events like this are a wonderful way to strengthen connections, take a break, and celebrate ou successes in a fun and relaxed setting. Our dedication to wellbeing was proudly recognised last year when we received a Health and Wellness Award—a reflection of our ongoing commitment to our team. Jenna Calderbank, our HR Manager and Mental Health First Aid Champion, shared: “It was a fantastic opportunity for everyone to connect, enjoy some well-deserved downtime, and celebrate all that we’ve achieved together. The laughter, the games, and the amazing food truly made it a day to remember.” Here’s to many more memorable moments, delicious food, and celebrations at Mellors!
