What a flavour-packed end to the term it’s been! And just like that… another fantastic school year comes to a close!

As classrooms empty and lunch trays take a well-earned summer break, we’re looking back on a year packed full of delicious food, amazing achievements and unforgettable #TeamMellors moments.

Award-Winning Success
2026 has been a milestone year, with Team Mellors proudly crowned Contract Caterer of the Year 2026 and Family Business of the Year 2026. To top it all off, we’ve also been shortlisted in five categories at the prestigious Foodservice Cateys Awards!

Stu’s StrEAT Food Final
A huge congratulations to our Executive Development Chef, Stu Dale, who has made it through to the final 16 of the StrEAT Food Awards. Stu will be serving up his mouth-watering Guatemalan Dirty Dogs this September as he battles it out for the coveted StrEAT Food Dish of the Year title. We’ll all be cheering him on!

Supertato + World Book Day!
This year we teamed up with our friends at Supertato to create a World Book Day packed with fun, flavour and fantastic food. Inspired by the bestselling books and hit BBC series, our themed menus encouraged children to discover a love of reading—one delicious bite at a time.

A World of Flavour
From Football Flavours during the World Cup to Lunar New Year, Eat the Rainbow, and plenty more exciting themed events, we served up foodie adventures all year long.

Golden Whisk 2026
Congratulations to Wayne Powell from Stoke Sixth Form College, who was crowned our Golden Whisk Champion 2026 with his sensational Halloumi Tikka Flatbread with Crunchy Asian Slaw, served alongside a refreshing Kiwi & Lime Lassi. Sponsored by Unilever, the finals showcased the incredible talent and creativity of #TeamMellors!

Mega Day 2026
More than 220 Team Mellors colleagues came together for our biggest Mega Day yet, alongside our fantastic suppliers. The day was bursting with foodie inspiration, exciting ideas, great conversations, delicious samples and, of course, plenty of laughs. There’s nothing better than bringing the Mellors family together.

Whether you’re relaxing in the sunshine, enjoying great food with family and friends or heading off on new adventures, we hope your summer is filled with fantastic flavours, happy memories and plenty of time to recharge.
