Mark Timmerman Director Starting at just 10 years old, Mark had his first experience in the family business by working at his dad’s Mellors bakery. His first solo venture came in the form of a strawberry and cream stall at the annual Southport Flower Show. This early passion for catering led him to study Hotel and Catering Management at Surrey University. After gaining experience with a major contract catering company in London, Mark founded Mellors Catering Services in 1995 at the age of 26. Always committed to customer voice, Mark even includes his personal phone number, 07947 730 620, on Mellors sandwich packaging. Favourite food: My 7-year-old daughter’s sour dough eggy bread… with maple syrup!Favourite hobbies: Riding into town on my old Dutch bike, with my wife, Jana, sitting on the back luggage rack.Top Track: Radiohead, Plastic Trees – showing my old man stage of life now… Tony Trainor Chief Executive Officer Tony has spent all his career in catering and hospitality, initially as a chef, before moving into operations. Tony has also held roles in Property and Commercial, before joining Mellors and the world of Contract Catering. As Mellors CEO, Tony’s vision is to continually strive to be the best at what we do across all areas, inspiring our team to live and breathe our company mission statement, providing “Top Quality Service & Food Create Happy & Successful People.” Favourite food: Anything different or unusual, recently I’ve been exploring the delights of Indian Street food, especially the Dosa!Favourite hobbies: Experimenting with growing things in the garden and hoping they survive and having nights out with my wife when we are not on taxi dutyDesert Island Disc: Depends on the mood, but you’ll always find Stevie Wonder in my playlist, Sir Duke is so uplifting. Danielle Watkins Head Nutritionist Danielle studied at Sheffield University where she qualified as a Public Health Nutritionist. She has spent the last 19 years focusing on childhood nutrition, medical diets and education catering. Danielle is a regular guest lecturer at universities across the country, promoting the health and wellbeing of the younger generation. Danielle heads up our Food Development team, Development Chefs and our social value coaches who support and develop new innovative dishes. Favourite Food: Cherry tomatoes, literally love them and could eat them all day long. I also love a gorgeous Sunday roast beef dinner Favourite Hobby: Swimming and Dancing Top Track: I love house music, have so many favourites tracks it’s hard to choose! Andy Walker Director of Operations Andy’s career has spanned over 20 years in catering starting in pub/restaurants and the past 15 years in contract catering. A successful craft background and then moving into management ensures he really understands how the business operates from the ground level. His focus on detail, leadership, employee development and “getting the job done” ensures he successfully leads the overall operations at Mellors Catering Services. Favourite food: Chinese, I do love a Friday night Chinese.Favourite hobbies: Used to be football, until age and a bad knee finished that, now I spend my time walking with the family. (My wife may say cleaning is my hobby!)Top Track: Meatloaf Jenna Calderbank Group HR Manager Jenna’s passion for people management started when she studied at university. She had progressed in HR roles to Group HR Manager, covering Mellors, Lancashire Manor Hotel and Barton Manor Hotel & Spa. Her wide experience in HR allows her to add value to our Group activities, taking care of people matters in our hotels and across Mellors Catering Services. Favourite food: Chinese, especially on a Friday night.Favourite hobbies: I enjoy walking with our Cavachon, Poppy.Top Track: Dancing Queen by Abba, love Abba! Abi Westwell Business Development Director Abi Westwell, our Business Development Director, is the driving force behind the growth and expansion of Mellors. With a proven track record in business development, Abi brings a wealth of experience and strategic vision to our team. Abi’s expertise lies in identifying new business opportunities, forging strategic partnerships, and implementing innovative strategies. Her dynamic leadership style inspires our team to think creatively and pursue ambitious goals, ensuring that Mellors remains at the forefront of the contract catering industry. Favourite food: Greek or Tapas would be my go-to.Favourite hobbies: Has to be pilates!Top Track: Beautiful South – Perfect 10. Jon Thompson Procurement Manager Meet Jon, our Procurement Manager, who oversees the supply chain at Mellors Catering Services. With extensive experience in procurement, Jon is instrumental in ensuring a consistent supply of high-quality, fresh ingredients for our kitchens across the North of England and Midlands, ensuring that delicious meals are prepared daily. Favourite food: a Sunday roast with the family.Favourite hobby: losing golf balls.Favourite song: Decline & Fall by Manic Street Preachers. Julie Leigh Finance Director In 2024, Julie brought her wealth of experience to Mellors, bringing over 25 years of experience as a Finance Director, working in retail, pubs, restaurants and hotels. Since qualifying as a CIMA accountant back in 1998, Julie has always believed that being a great Finance Director is about more than just numbers – its about leadership, passion and bringing your best self to the table everyday. Favourite food: Salad, actually a fruit salad. Mostly grapes, in fact all grapes! Favourite hobby: Trying to learn Spanish, walking my dog Leni and going to the gym.Favourite song: “Never Too Much” by Luther Vandross. Anna Bamber Marketing Manager Anna our Marketing Manager brings a wealth of expertise and a dynamic vision to Mellors Catering Services. Beyond the office, Anna enjoys staying active in the great outdoors, exploring new destinations and sampling new foods. Favourite food: I love Tapas!Favourite hobbies: I have a lot of hobbies, probably badminton or walking.Top Track: Michael Jackson – too hard to pick just one! Paul Addinell Health & Safety Manager Paul is a dedicated advocate for continuous improvement, bringing over three decades of experience in the food industry and upholding the highest safety standards. Paul has designed and implemented many health and safety strategies that have significantly reduced workplace accidents and improved food quality. One of the most unusual tasks he’s been asked to do was completing a risk assessment and creating safe work systems for a zookeeper feeding the lions! Outside of work, Paul enjoys spending time quality with his family and has a strong passion for sports. Favourite food: Steak, Chips with onion rings and sticky toffee pudding for dessert.Favourite hobbies: Football and following Rotherham United.Top track: ‘We Are the Champions’ by Queen.
