Andy has worked his way up through the ranks and is testament to how hard work, dedication and perseverance, you can achieve great things and go far in your career. Can you provide an overview of your role and responsibilities at Mellors Catering Services? As the director of operations at Mellors I am in overall leadership of all things operational funnily enough! I manage 4 operations managers, 20 area managers, over 30 support managers and over 1,800 employees out across 380 catering units. I lead operations through strategic objectives, operational support to the teams, operational controls, planning, communication, and a linchpin between the support functions in the business. How did you first become involved with Mellors Catering Services, and what drew you to the company? In 2008 I started with Mellors as an area support manager, aged 23, before that I was a kitchen manager in a country pub restaurant thinking to myself do I want to work weekends, evenings and all day and night when I’m 30, I answered my own question. Nope! I applied for a kitchen manager role at Mellors in a B&I site in Sheffield, what was then, Bannerdale, Monday – Friday 8-3 hrs, why not?
